Independent Practitioners Association Foundation

Objectives & Goals

Non-restrictive participation, which shall be open to all general practitioners in private practice on a willing-provider basis. To interact with all role-players and stakeholders with transparency and integrity. To recognise, entrench and accommodate the independent status of the constituent IPAs and their representative bodies within the IPA Foundation. To comply with the Managed Care Organisation accreditation criteria (MSA, no 131 of 1998). To ensure that all contracts which are presented to contracted providers also address, at all times, the rights, welfare and wellbeing of the patients involved at all times. To develop or adopt existing clinical protocols and formularies which are acceptable to the contracted provider and which will result in cost-efficiencies for the patients. To use the clinical algorithms published in the MSA and other industry available resources.
